We’re looking for more than 13,000 spirited, dedicated and dynamic volunteers to be the heartbeat of the Commonwealth Games, a community of passionate people coming together to help deliver the biggest sporting and cultural event the West Midlands has ever seen.
As part of the Commonwealth Collective, you’ll be the public face of Birmingham 2022, the heart and soul of the Games experience for athletes, officials, spectators, and a global audience of more than one billion.
All you need is positivity, enthusiasm and dedication to help deliver a Commonwealth Games to remember. This is your chance to leave your mark on the city, the Games, and the Commonwealth community, and represent where you live on the global stage.
Roles at the games: Games-time volunteers will need to be available for the duration of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (28th of July to 8th August 2022), and agree to complete a minimum of eight shifts.
Pre-games roles: These roles will take place prior to the Games to help support in the planning and preparation of the Games. Volunteers will need to complete 1 shift a week for a duration of three months. Some volunteers will provide support at the volunteer selection centre, helping to conduct interviews for games-time volunteers.
Our volunteer benefits:
- Once in a generation opportunity
- Free meal vouchers when on shift
- Free public transport to venues throughout the West Midlands
- Free uniform, wearable after the Games
- Training provided
- Reward and Recognition programmes
Plus, volunteering is great work experience, and you'll gain skills, meet new people and become part of a community - all while having fun and making a difference.
