Event description

The start line 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33131 The 26.2-mile course starts and finishes in the same general area. The race will start heading north in front of the American Airlines Arena.

The finish line 301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33131 Runners will finish heading north adjacent to Bayfront Park, only four blocks south of the start line (intersection of Biscayne & E. Flagler Street).

The full marathon finish line will remain open for 7 hours

Volunteering opportunities

It takes over 2,500 volunteers to “run” the Life Time Miami Marathon & Half Marathon and its associated events. Volunteers are needed to help with packet pickup at the Expo, fill in as course spotters, provide water to runners at aid stations, distribute finisher medals and assist in many other areas that are vital to make this event come to life. Individuals or groups are accepted and are a valued part of race weekend!

  • Expo Shift #1 Fri, Feb 7, 2020 from 10:30am to 3:30pm. Following Packet Pickup, athletes will approach the t-shirt and goody bag area. On their packet it will provide the shirt size. Athletes are only allowed to switch out their shirt size at the results tent on race day. The Athlete Services Coordinator will be your point of contact for any questions.
  • Expo Shift #2 Fri, Feb 7, 2020 from 2:30pm to 7:30pm. Following Packet Pickup, athletes will approach the t-shirt and goody bag area. On their packet it will provide the shirt size. Athletes are only allowed to switch out their shirt size at the results tent on race day. The Athlete Services Coordinator will be your point of contact for any questions.

  • Gear Check I Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 4:00am to 11:00am. Athletes will drop off their gear and you'll help label and organize the bags for easy pick-up after their race.

  • Water Station Start from 4:30am to 9:00am. Set up and hand out water to prep athletes before they race.
  • Water Station Finish from 7:00am to 2:00pm. Volunteers will set up the water station using the manual provided and hand out fluids to participants as they pass. The water station is relatively intense with runners coming to grab the cups quickly. Volunteers will need stay alert and pay close attention to be sure of both their safety and the safety of the participants. All Volunteers must work their entire shift and check-in/check-out with their Volunteer Team Captain.

Water Stations (A-W) Feb 9, 2020 Help keep athletes and spectators hydrated on course by filling coolers and setting out cups. It is important for all volunteers to stay their entire shift and check-in/check-out with the Water Station Manager.

  • Course Spotters Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 4:30am to 11:00am. Point athletes in the right direction on course and help direct spectators at cross zones.
  • HAM Operators Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 4:30am to 2:00pm
  • Start Line and Corrals Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 4:30am to 7:00am. Guide athletes to their assigned corral and assist with releasing them onto the course.
  • Information Booth Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 5:00am to 11:00am. Assist with providing information to the participants on race morning. Answer simple FAQs about the race events, give out extra race materials (safety pins, maps). Three information booth areas - 1) Start line, 2) Gear check area, 3)Finish line
  • Finish Line: Medals/Water/Food Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 5:30am to 11:30am. Be the first to congratulate athletes once they finish their race! Prepare and distribute finisher medals, water, post-race food, and more.
  • Full and Half Split Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 6:00am to 11:00am. The volunteers at the full/half split area will be responsible for directing the half marathon participants in one direction and the full marathon participants in the other.
  • Life Time Foundation Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 6:00am to 1:00pm
  • VIP Tent Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 6:30am to 11:00am. Volunteers will assist in the VIP tent at the finish line by handing out athlete food and organizing gear check pick up.
  • Floater Volunteers Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 7:00am to 1:00pm. Volunteers will be assigned a job when they get to the volunteer tent which is next to gear check
  • Kids Run Finish Sun, Feb 9 from 8:30am to Mon, Feb 10, 2020 12:00am. Be a part of the big moment! Congratulate the 2,000 Miami-Dade County Middle School students as they cross the finish line of the final 1.2 miles in their marathon by distributing finisher medals, post-race food and refreshments, managing the finish festival area, and assisting with departure of each school group.
  • Kids Run Start Area Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 8:30am to 11:00am. Help kick-off the Final Mile! Assist our team with pre-race duties such as signing-in each school group, distributing race materials, managing the start line area and bus drop-off, and much more!
  • Tear Down Crew Sun, Feb 9, 2020 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Help tear down all Life Time Fitness signage and tents to be loaded onto trucks
