Event description

Aspen Snowmass is proud to be selected to host one of the most prestigious events on the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup, the 2017 World Cup Finals. The longtime World Cup community was selected by the International Ski Federation for the March 15-19, 2017 races that will bring both the men’s and women’s tour to Aspen. The Finals will be the first outside Europe since 1997 and the return of men’s World Cup in Aspen for first time since 2001. All races will be held on Aspen Mountain and viewing will be available both along the course and at the finish arena. Free public shuttles to the races will run continuously to the venue entrance on Monarch Street from 8 am – 2 pm. Please note that lift 1-A will not be open to the public during the races. The World Cup International Village will be located in the heart of Aspen at Wagner Park. Activities, parties, international cuisine and concerts will be scheduled from Wednesday through Sunday that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Artistic creations, designed by local artists and students, which celebrate the spirit, history and international talent synonymous with Aspen ski racing, will be on display throughout the week in downtown Aspen. 

Volunteering opportunities

During the event you will have the opportunity to be a part of the special World Cup Finals racing tradition in Aspen, and contribute to the community in a meaningful way. In partnership with U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) and Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club (AVSC), Aspen Skiing Company (ASC) will be managing the volunteer program for the event. We are looking to fill a number of different roles on and off the hill. Priority will be given to those that have volunteered previously and those that can commit to a greater number of days.

Volunteer package

Helly Hansen will be giving custom 2017 Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals apparel to volunteers as a show of appreciation (eligibility will be based on the number of days worked). We will also host a volunteer thank you party, which will include dinner, drinks and prize giveaways.
