Event description

ESPN Wide World of Sports is proud to once again host the Special Olympics Florida Summer Games.

Volunteering opportunities

Volunteer Ambassadors are needed on behalf of Special Olympics Florida and for the 2018 Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games, part of the annual Sports Enthusiasts Calendar. Eunice Kennedy Shriver organized the first international Special Olympics Games at Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois in 1968. This event will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. Volunteer Registration will open a few months prior to the event!

Volunteer Ambassadors for the 2018 Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games must be at least 14 years of age. Sports Enthusiasts under 18 years of age must have parental/guardian consent. Remember that children under the eligible age cannot accompany you. You will be told on the event day that your services cannot be utilized. This is for the safety of your child and everyone else involved.

Volunteers will receive confirmation of the shifts for which they have been scheduled. Confirmations will be mailed approximately 30 days prior to the event or emailed after that and will include further information on times, parking location, and other details.
