The Mediterranean Games are a multisport competition that is organized within the Olympic movement, with the recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The participation is established through the Olympic Committees of each of the member countries of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG), in the geographical area of the Mediterranean. Tarragona will completely adapt the games to the current economic situation and they will be held from 22 June to 1 July 2018 in 16 municipalities of its territory, featuring 33 sports disciplines. List of venues: http://www.tarragona2018.cat/en/venue/ In 10 days of competition, the Games will bring to Tarragona and the territory: 4,000 athletes from 26 different countries 1,000 judges and representatives of the International Federations and the International Committee of the Games 1,000 journalists from all over the world 3,500 volunteers to cover the needs of organization More than 150,000 spectators There are 16 different venues. Tarragona is the main venue, but the following municipalities will also witness the Games: Altafulla, Barcelona, Calafell, Cambrils, Castelldefels, Constantí, El Morell, El Vendrell, La Pobla de Mafumet, Reus, Salou, La Selva del Camp, Torredembarra, Valls and Vila-seca. You will see 33 sports disciplines that make up a total of 200 events. Cycling, beach volleyball, swimming, athletics, shooting, gymnastics and horseback riding are some of the sports that will be part of the Games.
